1-2-1 Coaching FAQ’s

  • I conduct 95% of my coaching sessions online via Zoom, which allows for flexibility regardless of location. If you're in New York City or visiting, we can arrange in-person sessions to suit your preference.

  • I hold a Master’s in Executive Coaching from Ashridge Hult Business School and have the following certifications:

    • Ashridge Accredited Coach (validated by the EMCC at Master Practitioner level)

    • Certified EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) and ICF (International Coaching Federation) Team Coach

    • Marshall Goldsmith Certified Practitioner in Leadership and Team Stakeholder Centered Coaching

  • I have a degree in English and American Studies and began my career moving in advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi. From there, I gained experience in marketing, communications, and training within the IT sector before becoming a senior partner at a consultancy in London. I started my own coaching practice in 2008 after over a decade of consulting.

My coaching journey began with specific skill development—such as negotiation and presentation skills—before I pursued formal qualifications to elevate my practice.

  • My coaching is a partnership. I create a space where you can think freely and express yourself while being supported and challenged. Together, we’ll explore your goals, dilemmas, and challenges to help you become the person you aspire to be and achieve your professional and personal objectives.

As a coach, my role is to:

    • Help you define goals aligned with your vision

    • Encourage you to go beyond what you might do alone

    • Provide focus, tools, and structure to help you achieve results faster

    • Offer deep listening, advice, and guidance to help you align your actions with your values and goals

  • Labels can sometimes be limiting. While many distinctions are made between coaching and therapy, I believe the two can overlap in terms of personal growth and healing. Coaching is about the whole person—how you think, feel, and behave—and how these areas connect. Our work focuses on your personal narrative and how it influences your actions, relationships, and results.

  • Every client drives their own goals. I adapt my coaching to suit your communication style and needs. For example, if you prefer a more reflective approach, I’ll give you ample space for contemplation. If metaphors help you connect ideas, we’ll use those. It's about aligning with your preferences to make the process as effective as possible.

  •  I hold up a compassionate mirror, helping you uncover blind spots and encouraging feedback from stakeholders. I’ll also guide you in building a circle of trusted peers or mentors. For specific challenges, I offer models and approaches from my experience, and together we’ll design "experiments" you can try between sessions to refine your leadership style

 The Coaching Process

  •  Sessions are typically 90 to 120 minutes long, depending on your preferences. Each session includes:

    • A check-in on recent key moments, wins, or obstacles

    • Focused work on current challenges or goals

    • Setting actions or experiments to try before the next session to keep you accountable

  • You can reach me via email or messaging, and I aim to respond within four hours. If you need an urgent coaching session, I’ll do my best to schedule one within 48 hours.

  • You define success. After each session, we’ll reflect on changes and progress—both professionally and personally. If relevant, we’ll also seek feedback from key stakeholders to assess the impact of our work together.

  • Your confidentiality is paramount. I’ll never share details of our sessions without your express permission. However, I encourage open conversations with your team, boss, or HR about how you’re benefiting from coaching to enhance transparency and learning.

RELATIONSHIP AND FIT

  • Research shows that the quality of the coach-client relationship drives success, not the specific methods used. That’s why I offer a Free Discovery Conversation—an opportunity for both of us to assess if our partnership feels right. You should feel seen, heard, and challenged in a supportive way. I can work with anyone who believes in their capacity for growth and change, from new graduates to CEOs.

  • Success in coaching requires:

    • Courage: Come with an open heart and mind, ready to experiment and explore.

    • Humility: Be open to feedback, acknowledging what you don’t know or fear.

    • Discipline: Commit to our sessions and reflection time between them.
